Merly Trappenberg's primary medium and the heart of her artistic vision. These vibrant oil paintings on canvas celebrate Afro-Caribbean women, colorful Curaçao cityscapes, and the daily life of the island. Bold in color, rich in feeling, and deeply rooted in Caribbean culture — each painting is an ode to the joy, diversity, and spirit of Curaçao. Several works from this series are visible at the Governor's House of Curaçao and the Tula Museum. One painting from this series — "Tambú riba kaya" ("Tambu" on the Street) — was selected for the prestigious Imago Mundi Collection by Luciano Benetton.
